I am a busy man...
New courses at the college where I teach (to become even busier next week); new people to contact and try and form a relationship with (an online site helped me out here); more writing to complete (a lot done on a longer piece that I have left hanging for too long); and I am in the cold.
Yes, Montreal in January... A beautiful sight, when I can see it. I am still red-eyed after going out last night and having my eyes water and run in a wind chill that would have killed Nanook of the North. I did consider Igloofest, but I did not want to pay for the privilege of dancing in the cold surrounded by people wearing neon jumpsuits and attempting to enjoy themselves. Had a coffee, some dinner, watched the Habs lose, and then went home. Even the bars had lineups in the cold, and I have to admit that I have found a new group of Canadians to admire: the night club/bar hopping girls.
Ladies, if you could stand out in that cold for the privilege of being overpriced in a club or bar wearing nothing more than a mini-dress and a wrap that you want everyone to see before you are inside, then I salute you.
Just had to mention that.
So, another Sunday... A few things to do this weekend and then the grind of the new week of work. Plan is to do some shopping, call up friends, and then finally pick up the guitar again, ignoring roommates that seem to be everywhere and nowhere at once.
More to come.

Another Year...
I just got back to Montreal after spending just over two weeks at home with my family and I can see how things end up repeating themselves. Still feeling exhausted by my roommates and many bad habits. I do miss my family, especially my niece (gave her my flat cap and she just loved it). Hoping for things to change is not enough, so, with that vague idea in mind, I have started to clean up my room and have posted the first box home to get my head and my space cleaned up.
Amazed at how I have accumulated so much that adds up to so little. I joked with my brother that the only furniture I have are books, but I can see that it was not just a joke. A lot of truth in this. He also commented that I seem to have read everything under the sun and moon so I should be writing a book of my own. True, true... I am hoping that these blogs amount to something more than just a digital diary someday.
Well, I should stop here. Another trip to a cafe to write because the wireless connection at home just does not work reminds me that I am hungry, cold and looking for something who can tolerate me just enough to stick around for a while...
