Another Reason to Hate the CBC

Just recovering from Jaroslav Halak's miracle on ice last night (53 saves!!!!!) and I should be on cloud 9 1/2. Instead, I am considering the nation's problem with the talent in its own backyard. I am talking to you, Mr Bettman. Not one game of the Capitals vs. Canadians series has been shown on the national network (you know, the one we actually pay for).
Does the CBC hate Quebec? Are they upset that the other big Canuck team (you know who they are) did not make it? Is there some sort of deal that I am not aware of?
Any thoughts on this?

Where I am going...

You leave one message on Facebook and suddenly everyone has some advice...
I innocently typed in the sentence "I need to get out of this city" during a particularly trying time in Montréal and have now received more than a fair amount of advice about where to park myself. My plans had already included waiting on two different and quite potential jobs; loafing about in the city until something real comes along (ha,ha); and doing my PhD in English Literature. The latter is really a dream. My Master's is in hock to McGill University - they sent me a notice telling me that I had graduated; it did not include the actual diploma, just the envelope that they would have used to send it to me and a notice of how I still owed them money - and I am not sure that I would find a school covering my specific topic (Shakespeare and Asian film/theatre culture). Only one place in Canada has anything on its schedule that seems attractive and I am not sure I want to make that particular move right now.

So, I am still here. It is Sunday and I am stuck in the library with the same cast of freaks who seem to actually want to be here typing on a public computer. I went to a large outdoor market and discovered that most of it was still indoors (weather was a bit cool for the vegetables, I suppose). I am listening to Serge Gainsbourg and wondering how I can get that sort of Gallic coolness in my own life (gotta watch the film I guess). Still haven't done my taxes (end of the month is going to be here sooner than later) and I know that I have to fill in forms for both the country and the province (only in Quebec!).

It isn't all that bad (or good): I still run three times a week (weather has been on my side and I am a complete addict) and have lost weight and gained muscle (scientifically, it is just a replacement of one over the other, not a loss or gain). I am still writing and have two short stories worked out and typed in rough (lots of editing there). But I need more...

Glad to have this unread blog...
